The Chinese government have only recently stopped the felling of trees on the Tibetan Plateau. In most areas there is scarcely a tree to be seen. Only scrubby bush height growth remains. The lack of forestation means the rivers silt up and roads are frequently and regularly covered by landslides. There is now much concern about reforestation of the Tibetan high Plateau. Jinpa is involved in one small project but hopes to do more in the near future.
